Friedman’s famous Dirty Shirley and Twin Sister amplifiers inspire the IR-D, which runs two glowing hot 12AX7 tubes at high voltages that ensure true-tube response with none of the voltage-starved tonal flimsy of underpowered tubes. Each channel provides a laundry list of surgical controls: 3-band EQ, independent boost, Structure, Bright, IR cabinet/power amp simulations, plus 13 IRs preloaded for sending studio-grade tones to FOH mixers and more. Controls are clean, user-friendly, and easy to work via the IR-D’s multifunction footswitches. These let you tackle channel switching, activate the effects loop, and supercharge either channel with customizable boosts. Included editing software also allows you to save and cue MIDI-based presets with storage for up to 128 programs — in other words, the customization gets granular!
